The Real Takumi

This is my friend Dai-san's AE86 GT-V Tureno.

Dai-san is the real Takumi Fujiwara in many ways. When I first met him, he was working at the gas station and spent every waking hour with his car on the hoist searching for that little extra.

These shots were taken as we headed to Nikko for a drift event... My roadster was new and a good platform for some highway shots.

On the way, Dai-san got a slow pucture, so we stopped to get it sorted and the front lip spoiler. Unlike the Initial D Takumi though, Dai-san knows his way around his car doing all the tuning and engine mapping of his freedom ECU tuned black top himself.

You often find him sitting in a C1 rest stop with his laptop getting the best response from the little tureno.
Here, with Allen and Miguel's he more than makes up for his hachi's normal looks and style with on track performance. In some ways the normal car attracts more attention because of this.

Interior is half stripped for weight reduction and tyre size is small for best balance. Dai-san's entries are nothing short of spectacular, and he can hold this style all day.

The Kid!

He has tried his hand at the circuit attack,

But his talents lie in the Drift Arena and the search is on for more power.

If you are in the market for a "real" hachi-rocku. One that has lived a good life on the C1 and Touge, is well maintained by a top mechanic and only needs a little love and attention,  Dai's is up for sale.
